Programs of Study

EARLY CHILDHOOD PROGRAM
Group Music Class for babies and toddlers (birth through 4 years old) accompanied by a parent or guardian.

PREP CLASS
45 min. group classes for students in VPK and Kinder. Concepts include rhythm, ear training, music notation and piano pieces.

MOMMY AND ME PIANO LESSONS
A piano lesson in which both student and parent engage in piano learning. 30 min. long weekly lesson for students 5 years old.

BEGINNER AND ELEMENTARY LEVEL
For students first grade through high school. 30 min. weekly private lesson + 60 min. biweekly group class.

INTERMEDIATE LEVEL
For students first grade through high school. 45 min. weekly private lesson + 60 min. biweekly group class.

ADVANCED LEVEL
For students first grade through high school. 60 min. weekly private lesson + 60 min. biweekly group class.

BEGINNER PROGRAM
For students 18 years and older. 30 min. weekly private lesson + 60 min. group class four times during the Academic Year.

INTERMEDIATE AND ADVANCED PROGRAM
For students 18 years and older. 45 min. weekly private lesson + 60 min. group class four times during the Academic Year.

BEGINNER GROUP CLASS
For students 18 years and older. Group class piano for beginner adults in our Clavinova Piano Lab. Meets 60 min. weekly.

RECREATIONAL GROUP PIANO
It is never too late to learn how to play the piano. Recreational group piano lessons for Senior Citizens meets for 50 min. weekly.

Program Details

The different programs of study at New Tampa Piano and Pedagogy Academy offer a combination of private lessons and group classes, which make possible an approach to piano studies which includes all different elements of music learning.

Saturday, January 4th 2020 Classes resume.
Sunday, March 15th All-Faculty Recital – No classes.

Monday, May 25th Memorial Day – No classes. RCM examinations.
Saturday, June 13th Spring Student Recital Series - No classes.
Tuesday, June 9th – Monday, June 22nd Private lesson make up weeks.
Monday, June 22nd Last day of classes for regular Academic Year.
Tuesday, June 23rd – Sunday, July 5th Summer Break – No classes.
Monday, July 6th Summer session starts for current students.
Sunday, August 9th Last day of summer session.
Monday, August 10th, 2020 School year begins. First day of regular classes.

Performance and Examinations

Our programs add to your child’s academic excellence and well rounded education:
 
Exams are held twice a year. Students receive a grade, certificate and written feedback from professionally trained adjudicators.
 
  • Student Recitals
Student recitals are held twice a year, in the months of December and June.
 
  • College Recording Preparation
As our students approach college, our faculty may help students prepare repertoire to be recorded or performed live as part of their college package material, or as audition pieces if applying for a music degree. 
 

Summer Programs

Summer Programs are filled with age and level-appropriate activities, designed to spark interest and challenge the musical imagination in students.
