Ms. Sandra Cepero is a dedicated piano instructor and performer who brings a multifaceted musical background that enriches her teaching. In addition to her work as a pianist, her experience in choral and orchestral conducting provides a broad musical perspective that enhances her students’ musicianship.
Ms. Cepero began her musical studies at the age of seven, training in piano, choral conducting, and orchestral conducting. She holds music degrees from the University of Arts in Havana, the Conservatory of Music in Zaragoza (Spain), Austin Peay State University, and completed doctoral studies at the University of Cincinnati College–Conservatory of Music.
Before relocating to Florida, Ms. Cepero taught piano at the Cincinnati School of Music (2023–2025) and the Clarksville Academy of Music (2021–2023). During this time, she guided both children and adults through individualized lessons and prepared students for recitals, auditions, festivals, and competitions.
Throughout her career, Ms. Cepero has shown a deep commitment to youth music education—both as a pianist and as a conductor. Her diverse musical background strengthens her pedagogical approach, enabling her to train students not only in piano technique but also in broader elements of musicianship, musical analysis, and performance readiness.
Ms. Cepero’s teaching philosophy centers on developing the whole musician: technique serves expression, discipline nurtures joy, and performance becomes a natural extension of learning. Her students grow not only in skill, but also in artistic identity and lifelong appreciation for music.
Alongside her work as a piano faculty member at the New Tampa Piano and Pedagogy Academy, Ms. Cepero serves as the Music Director and Conductor of the Tampa Metropolitan Youth Orchestra.
