Campbell Cona, hailing from Athens, Georgia, is a devoted pianist and educator. He earned a Master of Music in Piano Pedagogy from the University of South Florida and holds Bachelor of Music degrees in Piano Performance and Music Education from the University of Georgia.
With a deep-seated love for music education, Campbell's teaching journey has encompassed various roles, including serving as a Graduate Instructional Assistant at the University of South Florida, where he imparted class piano instruction to undergraduate music majors. During his master's studies, he served as an official accompanist for undergraduate musicians. Campbell also dedicated time to teaching elementary music in public schools before relocating to Tampa.
In addition to his teaching commitments, Campbell actively engages with the music community and has assumed leadership positions, notably as Vice President of the Music Teachers National Association Collegiate Chapter. He firmly believes in music's ability to foster community, whether through piano or other instruments. His musical journey includes playing sousaphone in the Redcoat Marching Band and bassoon with the University of Georgia Wind Symphony and Concert Band. Leveraging his teaching and performing experience, he empowers students with skills for a lifelong appreciation of music.
Beyond his teaching endeavors, Campbell is a seasoned performer, having showcased his talents internationally, including performances at the Brancaleoni International Music Festival in Italy. Closer to home, he actively participates in multiple performing ensembles and recording groups in Tampa, contributing to the city's vibrant music scene through live shows and recordings.
Campbell's dedication to music education has garnered recognition through numerous honors and awards, including the Athon-Hughes-Cook Piano Pedagogy Scholarship and the Cora Miller Music Scholarship. Committed to making a positive impact in music education and engaging with the local community, Campbell Cona embodies a passion for music and teaching.
